Sports Cream Caused The Death Of A 17 year Old Girl From New York City
The Medical Examiner stated that 17 year old Arielle Newman, a cross country track star died from high doses of methyl salicylate, the anti-inflammatory found in sports creams such as Ben-Gay and Icy-Hot that she used to soothe aching legs after exercise! Newman, who garnered numerous track awards, died April 13 th, but this was just released June 10th.
The girls distraught mother said that she was scrupulous about her kids health....but she didn't know that an over the counter medication was unsafe.
The Spokesperson for Johnson & Johnson stated that you must read the labels for proper use and that these types of medications should only be used 3 times per day and for no more than a week.
Most people don't know how dangerous these topical medications are since you put them over the skin -- but these are absorbed into the body. ANY SYNTHETIC SUBSTANCE DOES NOT BELONG IN THE BODY!!! These substances KILL!!
